The <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-mmrda-pushes-seamless-metro-monorail-connectivity-at-upcoming-chembur-station-23632646" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Mumbai Monorail</a> on Wednesday achieved a major milestone after receiving safety certification from the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS) for operations under the advanced Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) system.
The certification serves as the final safety clearance required for the introduction of CBTC-enabled Monorail services.
Following the approval from the CMRS, a proposal has been submitted to the Maharashtra government seeking permission to commence operations using the new signalling technology.&nbsp;
Once the state government grants its approval, the Mumbai Monorail will begin services under the CBTC system.
