In the wake of massive traffic snarls in the area, the BMC has proposed to complete the road widening work on the Kurla-Kalina bridge over the Mithi river. It's a significant move as the bridge, a vital link between Santacruz East and Kurla West, is used by thousands of commuters daily. The road widening project was halted three years ago after the contractors failed to meet the delivery deadlines, after several time extensions.
