<p>A 22-year-old man has been arrested by the Colaba police for selling 1,000 cans of an energy drink and not depositing the amount in the bank.</p>
<p>The police said Palash Kadav, a native of Bhandara, had come to Mumbai in June 2015 and found a sales job with an outlet in the energy drinks section.</p>
<p>Recently, the area manager gave him a sales target of at least 1,000 cans of the energy drink in a month. The total stock amounted to more than R5.20 lakh. Kadav, wondering how he would meet the target, finally sold it to someone at a low price.</p>
<p>The matter came to light when the accounts at the outlet did not tally. When Kadav was questioned, he said he had sold the drinks through credit and debit cards to customers. He said he had no idea where the money went. The area manager immediately took the matter to the police.</p>
<p>An officer from Colaba police station said, "An FIR was registered under sections 408 and 420 of the IPC following which investigations began. While interrogating the accused, he confessed to selling the cans at low price and not depositing the money in the outlet&rsquo;s bank account. He is under police custody."</p>
