Nisha Rathod, a 14-year-old resident of Yadav Nagar, died after falling into a deep water pit, when she had gone there to wash clothes. As the residents have no water supply, they go to the nearest water pit for domestic use.
"We have been requesting water supply for the past six years, but we are always ignored. We are provided with a few drinking water taps in Kesav Nagar, which is a short walk away. We pay around R300 for this water and its running time is only 5.30pm to 8pm," said a resident of Yadav Nagar, who didn't want to be identified.
