Mumbai: Passenger body claims raised platforms are made of inferior material

<p>With just three stations left where platform height has to be raised, the the Passenger Amenities Committee (PAC) wants the cement and material to be lab tested; Western Railways say it is too late</p>

With just one-and-a-half month left for completion of platform levelling work at three stations on the Western Railway network, the Passenger Amenities Committee (PAC) has demanded an inquiry into the quality of cement used for the work. After the PAC members and senior railway officials visited some of the stations on the Western line on July 13, they said that contractors were using inferior quality material to increase the height of platforms.
