The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has launched the Mumbai One App, India’s first common mobility platform unifying 11 public transport operators, including the suburban railway network, across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).

It integrates various transit modes, including metro and monorail lines (Lines 1, 2A, 3, and 7, monorail, and Navi Mumbai Metro), Mumbai suburban railway, and key bus services operated by Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST), Thane Municipal Transport (TMT), Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Transport (MBMT), Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Transport (KDMT), and Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport (NMMT).
The platform eliminates the need for multiple transport apps, paper tickets, or repeated bookings. It provides a single digital QR-based ticket system, making daily travel simpler and faster for users.
The app features a multilingual interface available in Hindi, Marathi, and English. It includes several safety features, such as a 'Share My Location' option and an SOS Emergency Helpline, for the safety of commuters.
Mumbai One also includes a smart journey planner that suggests the fastest and most cost-effective routes based on real-time transit data. Further, the app offers guides to nearby attractions, cultural spots, and dining hubs, catering to both domestic and international travellers.
Promoting cashless and contactless transactions, the app supports all major digital wallets and prepaid balances.
The app has been launched by the Maharashtra Government; there are no additional charges for users, as all operating costs are covered by MMRDA.
Additional features include map-based booking, a locator for nearby stations and attractions, a city guide with curated local content, and real-time service alerts for smarter commuting decisions.
The app can handle up to 5 million transactions per day. It is also PCI DSS compliant.
Mumbai Metro Aqua Line: What to know about the 11 stations on the final stretch
The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) on Tuesday announced that the Aqua Line-3 had received approval from the commissioner of railway safety, and public operations of the line would commence on Thursday. Ahead of its launch, mid-day.com sheds light on the stations that comprise the long-awaited underground corridor.
The line is being opened in phases. The length of the entire stretch from Aarey Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road (JVLR) to Cuffe Parade is 33 km, with 27 stations, 26 of which are underground, while one is at-grade. On October 7, 2024, a 13-km stretch between Aarey JVLR and Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) opened, and another 9-km stretch from BKC to Acharya Atre Chowk in Worli opened on May 10 this year. The final stretch, comprising 11 stations, will open on Thursday. The line has crossed the average passenger count of 70,000 per day.
The 11 stations that will open on Thursday are Science Centre, Mahalaxmi, Jaggannath Shankar Sheth (Mumbai Central), Grant Road, Girgaon, Kalbadevi, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), Hutatma Chowk, Churchgate, Vidhan Bhavan, and Cuffe Parade.
