A tutor (39), who was arrested for sexually abusing three of his 15-year-old students in his Parel home, was granted bail by a session court on Wednesday. Several of the accused tutor&rsquo;s students had turned up to support him at the hearing.

The defence lawyer argued that the students had accused the tutor of rape solely in revenge, after he discovered pornographic videos on their phones and pen drives and confiscated them. mid-day had reported the case on November 11 (Pervert tutor would call boys for night classes, molest them and shoot videos).
The Bhoiwada Police had alleged that the accused would call the teenage boys for extra classes at night, when he would touch them inappropriately and even shoot videos of them in the nude. While only one student had filed a complaint, he had named two others who were also allegedly abused.
The tutor&rsquo;s lawyer, Anand Patvardhan said, &ldquo;The three boys named in the complaint were friends. One of them complained to the other about this, and after that, the second boy went to his father, who is an influential man in that area. His father came and registered the FIR.&rdquo;
When the judge asked about the nude videos of the minor students recovered from the tutor, the defence argued that the video could have been sent to his phone by anybody. &ldquo;These allegations are nothing but revenge. A few days ago, the tutor had caught these students with some pornographic videos, and he confiscated their phones and pen drives,&rdquo; added Patvardhan.
The judge granted the accused bail, after the defence cited the tutor&rsquo;s poor health and his long career, as well as the approaching state board exams, for which students needed his guidance. &ldquo;The tutor has been teaching for the last 19 years. Even today, all his students, have gathered here to support him because it is difficult to digest these allegations,&rdquo; said Patvardhan.
&ldquo;My daughter has been studying in his tuition class for many years and we all trust him. My daughter would study there till 11:30 pm, along with others, and Sir would take care of everything, including their meals,&rdquo; said one of the students&rsquo; parents present there.
However, not all of the accused&rsquo;s students had turned up at the court hearing. The police told the court that the three boys named in the FIR had not to gone to the police station to record their statements so far, because they were under pressure.
