Marking the 79th year of India’s Independence, the Mumbai Police shared on social media platform X a soulful flute rendition of the iconic song “Sandese Aate Hain”, a timeless anthem from the 1997 film Border that stirs deep feelings of sacrifice, duty, and love for the motherland.
Posting the video on X, Mumbai Police wrote, “Sandese Aate Hain. This Independence Day, immerse yourself in a soulful flute rendition of this iconic melody that stirs the heart with patriotism.”
The performance featured PSI Dadasaheb Tukaram Khule of R.A. Kidwai Marg Police Station, whose command over the flute brought the classic tune to life in a fresh yet nostalgic way.

Earlier on Friday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis hoisted the tricolour at Mantralaya to mark Independence Day. Following the ceremony at Nariman Point, Fadnavis addressed the public, paying tribute to freedom fighters, martyrs, and soldiers guarding the nation’s borders.
During the flag hoisting at Red Fort on August 15, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the anti-terror ‘Operation Sindoor’. He described it as India’s response to the Pahalgam terrorist attack, where perpetrators killed husbands in front of wives and fathers before their children after questioning their religion.
