Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aaditya Thackeray on Wednesday blamed road contractors for the problems faced by Mumbaikars during the first spell of the monsoon. He said poor-quality road work and the lack of action against contractors led to waterlogging, potholes, and traffic jams across the city, causing hardship to thousands of commuters.
Regime-pointing
Responding to the questions on waterlogging and other monsoon-related problems, Thackeray said, “The corrupt contracts are responsible for this situation.” He added that those in power should be held accountable, pointing out that the BMC was under the state government's control before the 2026 civic polls and is now currently under the Mahayuti regime.
