Mumbai rains: After wet week, respite likely; IMD issues green alert for Monday

IMD says no heavy rain on Monday and light showers on Tuesday

Rain may subside this week in Mumbai. The IMD has issued a green alert (no heavy rain) for Monday for Mumbai, Thane and Palghar. It has also forecast light rain on Tuesday. In the past 24 hours, the Western suburbs saw heavy rain in the Borivli-Dahisar belt, exceeding 100 mm.

The India Meteorological Department’s Santacruz observatory recorded an average rainfall of 56 mm in the past 24 hours ending 8.30 am on Sunday, in comparison to the Colaba Observatory which recorded 15.8 mm of rain in the same period.
