Even as Mumbaikars were beginning to enjoy the nip in the air, several parts of the city saw light showers this morning. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Mumbai and some parts of Maharashtra, are likely to receive light rain for the next two to three days. Many parts of the city, including Bhandup, Powai, Vasai, Panvel and Kalyan, experienced light rainfall this morning, catching several commuters off guard.

A few Mumbaikars also took to Twitter to report minor road accidents that had taken place due to slippery roads. "There is a 'trough of low' at the mean sea level from Comorian to Lakshadweep area. In other words, there is an elongated low pressure, due to which there's a cyclone in circulation in north coastal Karnataka and the neighbourhood at 0.9 km above sea level. All this combined is causing a cloudy situation resulting in light rain across Maharashtra. It will continue for the next two to three days," said Ajay Kumar, scientist from IMD.

He further added, "This should not be misunderstood as last showers asmonsoonhas already withdrawn from the city. The north-east monsoon, which is still on, could be affecting the conditions here. in Mumbai. But, there won't be heavy rain anywhere."
