Heavy rainfall in Mumbai: Malvani tops with 340 mm as civic body ramps up response

Several parts of Mumbai and its suburbs recorded heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours, with Malvani reporting 340 mm, Parel 334 mm, Colaba 248 mm, and Santacruz 225 mm, according to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
In view of intense rainfall activity, the BMC said its emergency response system is fully operational, with more than 7,000 officers and staff deployed across the city to manage waterlogging and related issues.
