In what is being said as one of the most extreme monsoons, the last three days of continuous rainfall have flooded roads in the Virar and Nalasopara areas of MMR. The lives of the residents have come to a standstill as movement is choked with suspended Western railway operations and roads are severely waterlogged.

Residents of the area told Midday that they are living in the dark without even adequate water as the electricity supply remains disrupted. Internet and mobile network disruptions have further cut off the area residents.
