Mumbai records more than half of Maharashtra’s Covid-19 cases

Following 922 cases on Sunday, Monday too saw high numbers as city accounts for 809 of state’s 1,426 cases reported in last 24 hours

After increasing for five consecutive days, the number of COVID-19 cases in the city declined slightly on Monday. However, the city’s numbers account for more than half the state’s tally. The city reported 809 cases and three deaths. In the state, there were 1,426 cases and 21 deaths. The state saw 26 more cases of the Omicron variant, out of which 11 are from Mumbai. 

The city had recorded 922 fresh infections on Sunday, up from 204 on December 20 with a higher test positivity rate at 2.65 per cent.
