<a href="https://www.mid-day.com/lifestyle/health-and-fitness/article/yearender-2022-mumbai-doctors-highlight-how-covid-variants-and-mental-health-took-centrestage-23263184" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Mumbai</a>&nbsp;on Saturday reported 2 new cases of Covid-19. The fresh cases took the tally of infections to 11,55,124, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said in a health bulletin.
No death was reported on December 31, the death toll remained unchanged at 19,746, it said.
The recovery count increased by ten more patients to touch 11,35,338.
The city now has an active caseload of 40, the health bulletin said.
According to the data, Mumbai's overall growth rate of cases between December 24 and 30 was 0.0006 per cent, and the recovery rate stood at 98.3 per cent.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra on Saturday reported 30 fresh <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-only-169-people-self-tested-for-covid-19-this-month-23263113" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Covid-19</a> cases, taking the overall tally to 81,36,663, as per a health department report, according to the PTI.
The state is now left with 164 active cases.
With no fresh fatalities in the last 24 hours, the Covid-19 death toll remained unchanged at 1,48,417, it said.
The number of recoveries so far in the state rose to 79,88,082 with 38 patients discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours, as per the report.
With 12,917 swab samples tested in the last 24 hours, the count of tests conducted so far in the state went up to 8,59,30,720.
