Mumbai reports over 13,000 cases, TPR declines to 22 per cent

After witnessing a sharp increase, the downward trend of Covid-19 cases in Mumbai continued on Thursday. The city recorded 13,702 cases on Thursday, 17 per cent less than Wednesday with 4,000 fewer tests. Even the test positivity rate (TPR) declined from 24 to 22 per cent. At least 20,849 people were discharged and the active cases number dropped below one lakh.
According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) report, 13,702 cases were reported after conducting 63,031 tests with a TPR of 21.74% per cent. The city reported 16,420 cases on Wednesday with 67,339 tests. At least 84 per cent of the patients found positive on Thursday were asymptomatic. There were six Covid-19 fatalities. Out of them five had co-morbidities and all six were above the age of 60 years.
