Mumbai sees 757 new Covid-19 cases, zero deaths

While doubling rate has dipped to 1,338 days, city’s TPR stands at 1.78 per cent

Mumbai’s test positivity rate (TPR) along with daily cases saw a significant jump for the fifth consecutive day as more than 700 daily cases were reported. Due to the surge, the state’s tally rose to 1,485 cases on Saturday.

According to the BMC, the city saw 757 new cases and the TPR was 1.78 per cent. The last time the city had such high numbers (789) was on June 24. Mumbai, however, registered zero deaths. It is the sixth time in December that the city has had no deaths.  Earlier this month, there were zero deaths on December 11, December 15, December 18, December 20 and December 22.
