Mumbai sees drop in Covid-19 cases, fatalities, but the TPR continues to rise

State, however, sees rise in new cases and a significant increase in deaths

Mumbai continued to show a rising trend in the test positivity rate (TPR) on Tuesday even as new cases and Covid-19 fatalities saw a significant drop. As per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) report, 352 new cases were reported on Tuesday along with one death. The TPR was 1.41% while it was 1.31% on Monday.

The city’s doubling rate continued to fall and was at 1,177 days on Tuesday. The deceased had comorbidities and was above 60 years of age. The city’s recovery rate remained constant at 97 per cent as 363 people recovered and were discharged on Tuesday.
