The Malabar Hill police have registered an FIR against an accused who allegedly ran his car over a 75-year-old man, Rajesh Patel. “Rajesh was a former Air India employee. He was crossing the road when he was mowed down by the car. We demand justice,” said a relative. “We have served a CrPc 41 notice to the accused who has been identified as Krish Maneklal. Further investigation is on,” said DCP Zone 2 Mohit Kumar Garg. The accident occurred on February 13.

According to Abhash Patel, 52, the complainant and a relative of Rajesh Patel, the deceased had met with an accident while attempting to cross the road. People had gathered around and had taken Patel to a clinic. However, the clinic was closed. So, they took him to Bhatia hospital. The doctors there said that he had suffered multiple fractures on his legs. However, Patel died during the course of treatment.
