The Khar police arrested three men who allegedly burgled Rs 2 crore worth of jewelry and cash from the house where they were working for the past 22 days and fled to Bihar. The accused are involved in multiple cases of theft and dacoity in Nashik, Mumbai, Delhi, and Ludhiana.

The owner of the house at Rajgir Apartment in Khar West, Sahil Anil Goyal is engaged in the business of import and export of chemicals. The accused persons have been identified as Niranjan Rama Baheliya, Ramchelwa Maiku Paswan and Jayprakash Harishankar Rastogi and are all residents of Katrabazar in Gonda, Bihar.

According to police officers, the Goyal family hired all three staff members on April 1 as cook and domestic help. When the Goyal family left for Goa on April 22 to attend the wedding anniversary of a friend, they left the house in the care of the newly hired employees.

However, when the Goyal family returned on April 26 they found the lockers in the bedroom broken open. Along with the contents of the locker the servants were also missing. They immediately informed the Khar police and filed an FIR. Cops discovered that the accused had fled with more than R2 crore worth of jewelry and Rs 6-7 lakh in cash from the house.

The Khar police formed a team and traced the accused hiding in Gonda, Bihar, recovered about R1 crore in gold and diamond jewelry and cash from them. The police found that the accused modus operandi involved getting employment as cooks, cleaners, and housekeepers with wealthy families and burgling the houses.
