Three women were on Saturday killed after they were run over by an express train while crossing tracks between suburban Malad and Goregaon stations, a senior Western Railway (WR) official said

Four women contract labourers of the railways were run over by a long-distance train between Malad and Goregaon stations on Saturday afternoon. While three died on the spot, one has sustained multiple injuries and is battling for life. According to the Government Railway Police (GRP), the incident took place around 12.15 pm on Saturday when the women were returning from work. They were heading towards Malad station when they suddenly spotted an oncoming fast train. To escape it, they crossed over to the next track, but did not notice the Bandra-Indore Express on that track. The train hit them from behind.
