Mumbai will have the highest tide on Thursday when the sea level will rise to 4.87 metres at 1.14 pm. Even on Friday, the same phenomenon will repeat at 1.56 pm.

The high tide level collides with heavy rain resulting in flooding in the coastal city as the floodgates remain close to restrict sea water entering in Mumbai. So since the last decade, the BMC announced high tide day to alert the citizens. This season, the city will face the highest tide levels from Thursday onwards. On Wednesday, the highest tide level- 4.76 metres was at 12.30 pm. On August 3, the tide level will reach to 4.87 metres. Even on August 4, the high tide level will be close to 5 metres.

The IMD has forecasted light to moderate rain with chances of a few heavy spells at isolated places in the city for the next five days. So there is a very low chance that the city gets flooded.

To avoid any untoward incident, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation appealed to Mumbaikars to be alert and not go to the beaches
