Two cars were gutted in a fire sparked by firecrackers on Diwali night near a hospital in <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-records-50-fire-incidents-in-60-hours-of-diwali-festivities-23599550" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Mumbai</a>, officials said on Tuesday, reported news agency PTI.
No person was injured in the blaze reported to the fire brigade at 11.33 pm on Monday at the Neelyog Vedanta building near Arogyadayi Hospital at Nityanand Nagar in Ghatkopar area, a civic official said, reported PTI.
Two cars were gutted in the fire, the official said.
Firefighting teams along with the police rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze in some time, reported PTI.
According to locals, the blaze was triggered due to firecrackers, a <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/fire-breaks-out-in-navi-mumbai-unit-manufacturing-candles-glass-items-no-injuries-23599108" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">fire brigade</a> official said.
<h2>Four killed, 10 injured in fire at building in Navi Mumbai</h2>
In another incident, four persons were killed and 10 others suffered injuries after a fire broke out in a multi-storey residential building in Maharashtra's Navi Mumbai township shortly after midnight on Tuesday, police said, reported PTI.
Prima facie, the blaze started at around 12.30 am in a flat on the 10th floor of the Raheja Residency, MGM Complex, at Sector 14 in <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-fire-late-night-worli-fire-contained-no-casualties-reported-23599462" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Vashi area</a>, and spread to the 11th and 12th floors, an official said, reported PTI.
Two women, a man and a 6-year-old girl were killed, while 10 others were injured, he said.
The injured persons were rushed to two hospitals in Vashi.
After being alerted, 40 fire brigade personnel along with 8 fire tenders and police rushed to the spot and the blaze was put out by 4 am, the official said, reported PTI.
The cause of <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-fire-in-cuffe-parade-chawl-kills-teen-leaves-three-injured-23599460" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">the fire</a> was yet to be ascertained, the official said.
<h2>Firecracker sparks blaze on balcony in Thane highrise; furniture destroyed</h2>
Meanwhile, a firecracker caused a blaze in the balcony of a house on the 31st floor of a building in Maharashtra's Thane city, damaging the furniture kept there, officials said on Tuesday, reported PTI.
No person was injured in the incident which was reported at around 10.45 pm on Monday in the building located in Patlipada area during the Diwali festival celebration, they said.
The blaze was caused due to a firecracker lit during the celebration, <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-fire-level-1-blaze-breaks-out-in-worli-chawl-no-injuries-reported-23599404" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Thane Municipal Corporation's</a> disaster management cell chief Yasin Tadvi said, reported PTI.
The furniture kept in the balcony of the flat, located on the building's 31st floor, was destroyed, he said.
After being alerted, fire personnel rushed to the spot and the blaze was put out within half an hour, the official said.
There were a couple of other minor fire incidents also in the city due to the firecrackers, he said, adding that no one was injured.
