Shiv Sena president and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray gave a fitting reply to Congress leaders, who are increasingly talking about contesting the polls without forming an alliance. He said the Shiv Sena would also talk the same, because ‘swabal’ (strength of self) was its right, but he believed that it wasn’t just about elections but also about taming the disasters like the pandemic, seeking justice for the people and keeping one’s pride intact.

Addressing Sena workers on the occasion of the party’s 55th foundation day on Saturday, Thackeray added that some parties are behaving inappropriately when people were worried about their future in the wake of the pandemic. He said political parties should not talk about ‘going solo’ to gain power without thinking of the people. “Is there any other party that does not spell any clear political agenda, but asks the party workers to work for healthcare? It is the Sena that is capable of doing such things,” he said. He is deciding the party’s course of action by observing the ‘antarang” (inside) of others. “Sena will not compromise its pride and confidence.”
