Mumbai: Auto driver returns bag with Rs 14 lakh cash and gold, despite being debt-ridden himself

After finding the bag containing cash and jewellery inside it, Shaikh immediately drove to Kashimira police station and handed over the bag to the police.

An autorickshaw driver from Mumbai who has been unable to repay his loan which he took to buy his vehicle returned Rs 14 lakh cash and gold left behind by a passenger on Sunday. The rickshaw driver identified as Iftikhar Shaikh (40), was felicitated by the city police for his honesty.
Touched by the felicitation, Iftikhar, a Mira Road resident, said that he has lived his life on the principle of honesty.
