While Mumbai faced a deepening water crisis this year, a report highlighted that the maximum city witnessed a sharp increase in online searches for drinking water and water tanker services during the peak summer months. The increase in water tanker service searches reflects growing demand for alternative water sources.

A report by Justdial, which compared search trends between March-April 2026 and May-June 2026, as well as May 2026 and June 2026, found that Mumbai emerged as the strongest growth market in the country for water-related service searches.
