<p>Mumbai is likely to see a partly cloudy sky with one or two <strong><a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/ganesh-visarjan-2026-light-rain-likely-partly-cloudy-skies-forecast-across-mumbai-23651808" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">spells of very light rain</a></strong> on Saturday, September 26, according to the India Meteorological Department&rsquo;s (IMD) latest local weather update.</p>
<p>The maximum temperature is expected to be around 32 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is likely to settle at around 28 degrees Celsius.</p>
<p>The meteorological department has also issued an alert for light rainfall across Mumbai and Thane on Saturday.</p>
<h2>Mumbai tide timings</h2>
<p>According to the latest tide forecast, <strong><a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-weather-update-city-suburbs-may-see-light-rain-amid-partly-cloudy-skies-today-23651230" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Mumbai will witness a high tide</a></strong> of 4.27 metres at 11.31 am on Saturday, followed by another high tide of 4.31 metres at 12.03 am on September 27.</p>
<p>The low tide is expected at 5.40 pm on Saturday, measuring 0.73 metres. Another low tide is forecast at 5.45 am on September 27, measuring 0.97 metres.</p>
<h2>Rainfall recorded in city</h2>
<p>Mumbai recorded no rainfall between 8 am on Friday, September 25 and 8 am on Saturday, September 26.</p>
<p>The average rainfall recorded during the period was 0.00 mm in the city, 0.00 mm in the eastern suburbs and 0.00 mm in the western suburbs.</p>
<h2>Flood-like situation in Odisha&rsquo;s Banpur after heavy rainfall, roads submerged</h2>
<p>A <strong><a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/bmc-floats-bids-for-dprs-for-rs-7345-9-crore-mumbai-flood-mitigation-works-23650991" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">flood-like situation</a></strong> has emerged in Banpur in Odisha&rsquo;s Khordha district following heavy rainfall, with floodwater entering residential areas and disrupting normal life.</p>
<p>Several major roads have been affected, including the Banpur-Balugaon road, which has been cut off due to rising water levels. Paddy fields have also been submerged, raising concerns for farmers in the affected areas.</p>
<h2>Flood situation worsens in Malkangiri</h2>
<p>In Malkangiri district, ADM Somnath Pradhan visited flood-affected areas on September 25 amid heavy rainfall and rising water levels.</p>
<p>The Mathili Fire Service Team also rescued a family stranded in floodwater after the water level of the Saberi River at Nadiguda village rose following heavy rainfall.</p>
<h2>Puri bans sea bathing amid turbulent conditions</h2>
<p>In Puri, the district administration has alerted tourists by hoisting red flags and imposed a ban on sea bathing amid turbulent sea conditions. Lifeguards have been deployed across various sectors along the beach to prevent tourists from entering the water.</p>
<p>Assistant Station Officer Ananta Prasad Biswal said Puri has been designated a &ldquo;red zone&rdquo; due to the <strong><a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-weather-update-light-rain-thundershowers-likely-amid-partly-cloudy-skies-23651410" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">prevailing weather conditions</a></strong> and warned that the situation could deteriorate over the next two days.</p>
<p>&ldquo;Given the current situation, specifically the deep depression, Puri has been designated a &lsquo;red zone&rsquo;, a status expected to remain in effect for the next two days,&rdquo; Biswal told ANI.</p>
<p>&ldquo;We have deployed 98 lifeguards from the Odisha Fire Service to raise awareness. The situation in Puri is dangerous today and is expected to worsen tomorrow; a deep depression has already formed, causing the sea to become extremely turbulent with high waves. Anything could happen at any moment,&rdquo; he said.</p>
<p>Biswal said red flags had been hoisted and lifeguards were using loudspeakers to warn tourists. ATV bikes and megaphones have also been deployed, while the district administration has officially prohibited sea bathing.</p>
<p>&ldquo;I urge tourists not to enter the water for the next two days,&rdquo; he said.</p>
