Mumbai weather update: IMD issues yellow alert for rain and thunderstorms

Mumbai is expected to witness partly cloudy skies across the city and suburbs on Sunday, with the possibility of light rain during the evening and night hours, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The weather department has also issued a nowcast warning indicating the likelihood of isolated rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in some areas.
IMD Issues Yellow Warning for Mumbai
In its nowcast warning issued at 7 am on June 21, the IMD placed Mumbai under a yellow alert valid for the next three hours. The department stated that light to moderate rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated locations, with a possibility of thunderstorms and lightning in some parts of the district.
