Mumbai weather update: The weather forecast for Mumbai indicates light to moderate rainfall in the city and suburbs

As of 08:00 hrs today, the weather forecast for Mumbai indicates light to moderate rainfall in the city and suburbs, according to a BMC release. Residents can expect intermittent showers throughout the day and are advised to be cautious while commuting on wet roads.
The tide timings for today are as follows:

High Tide:
09:19 hrs: 3.72 meters
20:44 hrs: 3.24 meters
During high tide, there may be an increase in water levels in coastal areas, leading to temporary waterlogging in some low-lying regions. Citizens residing near the coastline should remain vigilant and avoid venturing close to the sea during these periods.
Low Tide:
15:05 hrs: 2.41 meters
The low tide offers temporary relief from high water levels. However, residents should be aware of potential waterlogging in low-lying areas due to the light to moderate rainfall.
On the next day, 30th July 2023, the low tide is scheduled at 03:06 hrs with a height of 0.89 meters.
The city experienced varying levels of rainfall in the past 24 hours, from 28th July 2023, 08:00 hrs, to 29th July 2023, 08:00 hrs, with the following average rainfall details in different regions:
City: 20.85 mm
Eastern Suburbs (ES): 51.23 mm
Western Suburbs (WS): 42.02 mm
The rainfall data indicates that the eastern suburbs received the highest amount of rainfall during this period.
Meanwhile, in Mumbai, the collective water stock in the seven reservoirs that supply drinking water to the city is now 68.06 per cent, as per the BMC data. According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) data, on Friday, the collective water stock in the seven reservoirs that supply drinking water to Mumbai is now at 9,85,130 million litre of water or 68.06 per cent.
The Modak Sagar lake, one of the seven lakes that supply water to Mumbai, started overflowing on July 27 at 10.52 pm, the civic body said late Thursday. Earlier on July, the Tulsi lake overflowed following heavy rains in the city and suburbs.
Mumbai draws water from Tulsi, Tansa, Vihar, Bhatsa, Modak Sagar, Upper Vaitarna, and Middle Vaitarna.
As per the data shared by the civic body, the water level in Tansa is at 99.58 per cent. At Modak-Sagar, 100 per cent of water stock is available.
In Middle Vaitarna 79.70 per cent, Upper Vaitarna 42.78 per cent, Bhatsa 59.22 per cent, Vihar 100 per cent and Tulsi 100 per cent of useful water level is available.
