MMRDA directs elevated connector contractor to build footpath after visiting dangerous stretch where pedestrians have no option but to walk on road

The spot where pedestrians are forced to walk outside construction barricades, putting their lives at risk amid moving traffic and construction activity
The authorities have finally heeded the voice of Worli residents living near the elevated connector that links their area to Sewri — and the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL), with the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) directing the contractor to construct a temporary footpath within a month.
“For the past three to four years, we have been living with this problem. There was no proper provision for pedestrians despite the construction continuing for such a long time,” said Rekha Paul, a resident.
