A recent survey done by a private hospital in Mumbai revealed that 26 percent of Mumbaikars who were advised to go for surgery-related orthopedics refused to go to the hospital due to fear of Covid-19.
During the Covid-19 lockdown, doctors witnessed a surge in the number of orthopedic cases being reported across the city. This alarming trend prompted teams at Fortis Hospital, Mulund and Kalyan, Hiranandani Hospital, Vashi, and SL Raheja Hospital, Mahim, to reach out to Mumbaikars to understand people's awareness levels about their bone and joint health and its long-term impact that would shape their post-pandemic functionality.
