Mumbaikars, time to use more peas, fewer tomatoes in the kitchen

<p>The fall in temperature has slowed down the growth period and supply of tomatoes, while the wholesale market is receiving abundant supply of seasonal green peas from northern states</p>

The dip in temperature across the country has affected the growth and supply of tomatoes in the market. Traders at Vashi’s Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) have said that the ongoing winter season has brought down the supply of tomatoes, pushing the price from R5-7 per kg to R18-20 in the wholesale market.
