Mumbai’s fresh Covid-19 cases rise significantly to 279

The doubling rate improved to 2,245 days on Tuesday. The city’s recovery rate remained constant at 97 per cent as 313 people were discharged after full recovery on Tuesday

The city witnessed a marginal rise in the Covid test positivity rate (TPR) on Tuesday but it remained below 1 per cent. It also reported a significant rise in daily cases but saw only one death due to the infection. As per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) report, 279 new cases were reported and the TPR was 0.88 per cent. On Saturday, the new cases were 176 and TPR 0.69 per cent. The deceased had comorbidities and was above 60 years of age.

The state saw a significant rise in both new cases and Covid fatalities. As per the state health department report, 982 cases were reported along with 27 deaths.
