Mumbai's seven lakes, which supply drinking water to the city, collectively held 12,89,289 million litres of water, or 89.08 per cent of their total live storage capacity, as of 6 am on Sunday , August 2, according to the Hydraulic Engineer's Department at the Bhandup Master Control Centre.

The current stock is slightly lower than the same period last year, when the reservoirs contained 12,87,213 million litres (89.94 per cent). However, it is significantly higher than 2024, when the lakes had 11,64,405 million litres, accounting for 80.45 per cent of the total live storage.
