Mumbai Metro Line-4 slab collapse: Under-construction Metro slab falls on vehicles in Mulund, one dead

One person was killed and three others injured as a slab from the under-construction Metro Line 4 partially collapsed onto passing vehicles at LBS Road in Mulund on Saturday. The incident occurred around 12.20 pm, trapping victims inside their vehicles.

The 32.32-km Green Line 4 connects Kasarvadavli in Thane to Wadala with 30 stations. Sources at the site said that the parapet was pulled up into place last night and had been secured with hooks that gave away later in the afternoon, leading to the collapse. It trapped a car and an auto rickshaw underneath.

The incident occurred just next to the upcoming Mulund Metro station. The Mulund fire brigade is also situated nearby, so fire personnel, along with local Metro workers, became the first responders. The injured were rushed to a nearby private hospital for treatment. Among them, Ramdhan Yadav was brought dead.
