As part of the ongoing Navratri 2025 celebrations, the Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) on Wednesday announced nine immersion spots across the city for Durga Visarjan 2025.

The MBMC, in an official statement said that the 9 immersion points across the city have been set up for the safe and eco-friendly Durga idol visarjan scheduled for October 2, 2025.


It said that the arrangements have been made under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Radhabinod A. Sharma, in coordination with Deputy Commissioner of Police Rahul Chavan and Additional Municipal Commissioner Sambhaji Panpatte.



A joint meeting was held with police and municipal officers to ensure smooth management of the immersion process.

The MBMC also shared the list of designated immersion spots in the city and has requested the cooperation from the citizens during the festivities.

It said that the citizens can visit the following locations where immersion spots have been set up-

- Bhayandar (West) - Maritime Jetty

- Uttan Sea Shore

- Swargiya Anand Dighe Ground, Navghar

- Bhayandar (East) - Old Chowpatty

- Bhayandar (East) - New Chowpatty

- Shivar Garden

- Satkari Lake, MIDC, Miragaon

- Sukal Lake, Penkarpada

- Ghodbunder Retibunder

The MBMC has assured that all sites will be equipped with proper safety measures and facilities, including lighting, stages, tents, tables, and crowd management arrangements.

"Citizens and mandals have been urged to follow the civic guidelines, respect the environment, and immerse idols only at the designated spots. The municipal corporation aims to ensure a peaceful and eco-conscious end to the festival," said an official.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Police have put in place elaborate security arrangements ahead of the Dussehra, Vijayadashami, and Navratri celebrations on Thursday, October 2. Mumbai is expected to witness large gatherings, cultural programmes, and grand immersion processions of goddess idols as part of the annual festivities.

The security arrangements have been planned under the supervision of the Joint Commissioner of Police (Law & Order), as per the guidance of the Commissioner of Police, Mumbai. 

To ensure law and order and manage traffic, seven Additional Commissioners of Police, 26 Deputy Commissioners of Police, 52 Assistant Commissioners of Police, 2,890 police officers, and 16,552 police personnel have been deployed across the city.

Moreover, specialised units, including SRPF platoons, Rapid Response Teams, Riot Control Police, Delta Force, Combat Units, and Home Guards, have also been stationed at sensitive and crowded locations to ensure safety during the festive celebrations and gatherings. 

Mumbai Police has also urged the citizens to reach out to police helplines 100 or 112 in the event of any emergencies.
