Eyeing the post, the opposition NCP, which is the largest party in the Maharashtra Legislative Council, today filed a no-confidence motion against the house chairman Shivajirao Deshmukh, who belongs to Congress.

NCP, which wants the Chairman's post, does not have a majority in the Council and would need votes of eight outside members.
