According to the police, Iftekar looked after Bajrangi's extortion business in Mumbai. Iftekar is the brother of Bhivandi NCP president Khalid Sheikh. D K Mhatre, senior police inspector of Bhivandi Crime Branch, confirmed that Sheikh was arrested in a joint operation with Delhi police. Mhatre said, "He was wanted by Delhi police in the Bajrangi case and we helped nab him. It was the revelations made by Bajrangi that led to Sheikh's arrest." When we spoke to Khalid Sheikh, he earlier declined to accept Iftekar as his brother. But later said, 'Yes, he is my brother. But I am not aware about his arrest."
