<p>Police have arrested a 31-year-old woman hailing from Nepal at the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-crime-news/article/mumbai-rs-19-crore-worth-gold-busted-at-csmia-23353514" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Mumbai airport</a> while she was trying to travel to Hungary using a fake passport, an official said, reported news agency PTI.</p>
<p>During checking of the woman's documents at the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-customs-bust-smuggling-ops-of-gold-worth-rs-6-75-cr-23352265" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport</a> on Monday, officials got suspicious.</p>
<p>Following a thorough checking at the Mumbai airport, they found her passport was made using fake documents. When authorities enquired with the woman, she failed to give a satisfactory reply, the official from Sahar police station said on Tuesday, reported PTI.</p>
<p>The woman was later brought to the local police station from the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/customs-seizes-gold-iphones-currency-worth-rs-75-crore-at-mumbai-airport-23348584" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Mumbai airport</a> for further investigation, during which it was found that she had got the passport made in Kolkata using fake documents, he said, reported PTI.</p>
<p>The woman has been arrested and booked under various Indian Penal Code sections including for cheating and forgery and provisions of the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-crime-news/article/brazilian-national-held-at-mumbai-airport-for-smuggling-cocaine-23348638" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Passports Act</a>, the official said.</p>
<p>In another case, customs has seized 32.79 kg of gold valued at Rs 19.15 crore concealed in undergarments and luggage of two women foreign nationals at the Mumbai airport in separate cases, an official said on Tuesday, reported PTI.</p>
<p>The two passengers from African countries were subjected to search on suspicion after landing at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on Monday, he said, reported PTI.</p>
<p>In both cases, gold was found concealed in undergarments and baggage. The women were arrested and further probe was on.</p>
