There is low patronage of AC trains because of the fare issue. When will it be rationalised?
Yes, we are aware of that. A proposal with the railway board is under final consideration where fares are being worked out in the best possible way for Mumbai on the basis of the Metro ticket slabs.
Will Mumbai get Vande Bharat trains?
Yes, the new trains will be delivered across the country. Seventy-five Vande Bharat trains are being manufactured, while a decision has been taken in the Union Budget to build another 400 rakes. Routes and timetables will be finalised soon. Manufactured at the Railway’s Chennai factory, the dispatch of these trains will start from August-September. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given the vision of replacing old trains with new rolling stock.
