Hinting at a possible cancellation of the HSC exams, State Education Minister, Varsha Gaikwad informed about her meeting with Central Education Minister, Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal, through a series of tweets. Gaikwad shared several points raised by her in the meeting.

&ldquo;Keeping in mind the ongoing pandemic situation and the projection that children are vulnerable to new strains of Coronavirus, the option of a &lsquo;non-examination route&rsquo; for Std XII students should be actively examined,&rdquo; she tweeted. &ldquo;Students have been studying in Std XII for over 14 months. Personally, I believe that we should remove the uncertainty regarding exams and take a decision that is in students&rsquo; interest. Our focus should now be in evolving a uniform assessment policy, vaccination of all teachers and eligible students and safe resumption of schools, college campuses for the next academic year,&rdquo; stated Gaikwad in another tweet, adding that the final decision would be taken post a discussion with the chief minister and legal department.
