Remember the time you went to apply for your driver’s licence? The chaos, the serpentine queues, the touts and the haphazardly parked vehicles at the Regional Transport Office (RTO) are enough to make you turn back. However, there is good news for those who wish to apply for the licence in the future. From December 1, the State Transport Department will allow people to apply for their driver’s licence online.

Confirming the same, SK Sharma, Principal Secretary (Transport) told sunday mid-day, “From December 1, people can apply online for the driving licence and after filling in the details; they can make an appointment for the required tests.” In other words, one need not come all the way to any of the three RTOs at Tardeo, Wadala and Andheri, only for forms.
