Pothole menace reaches cabinet, state govt summons agencies over bad roads across Maharashtra

As bad roads become an issue across state, CM summons all agencies and ministers involved, even as BMC boss cracks the whip

Both the state government and BMC seem to have woken up to the bad state of roads in the state and city at the fag end of the monsoon. At the Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, CM Uddhav Thackeray issued summons to ministers involved and civic, state and central agencies tasked with construction of roads, bridges and flyovers. Civic chief Iqbal Singh Chahal, too, held a meeting with ward officials, instructing them to take steps to fill potholes at the earliest.

The issue of potholes across the state came up for discussion in the Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, following which Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray issued summons to civic, state and central agencies tasked with construction of roads, bridges and flyovers on Wednesday.
