On June 20, we raised an alarm over the threat posed by that the Deonar dumping ground, the city’s largest landfill that has also seen repeat outbreaks of fire, the growing menace of water and power theft, and school dropouts taking to drugs. Residents claim that pollution owing to the burning of garbage at the landfill has only worsened in the last four months and that there has been a sharp spike in respiratory ailments.
