A <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-local-train-updates-rail-fracture-hits-local-services-on-central-railways-main-line-23603741" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">rail fracture was detected</a> on the Up Through Line near Kalyan on Friday morning, prompting Central Railway authorities to impose speed restrictions to ensure the safe movement of trains. A few services were delayed due to the incident.
According to railway sources, the train manager of Train K26, Rajeev Nishad, reported the rail fracture at around 8 am at kilometre 52/421, near KP4 Signal S14.
Following the detection, <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-local-train-updates-rail-fracture-disrupts-services-beyond-badlapur-23587170" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">railway officials</a> immediately imposed a speed restriction of 10 kmph at 8:19 am for trains passing through the affected section. After an initial inspection and implementation of safety measures, the speed restriction was relaxed to 30 kmph at 8:27 am.
