Ramdas Athawale demands land for Buddhist temple in Ayodhya

Athawale said there were many Buddhist temples in India during the reign of Emperor Ashoka, before the influence of Hinduism increased

Union Minister Ramdas Athawale on Thursday raised a demand for a piece of land for the construction of a Buddhist temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. He said he would soon meet Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath regarding this demand.
"I want that around 10 to 20 acres of land should be allotted to the Buddhists and a grand Buddhist temple should be built in Ayodhya. I will soon be meeting UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath," Athawale told ANI.
