Starting December 9, the RPF of the Central Railway (CR) shall start surprise checks at railway stations and catch hold of people trespassing on tracks

There are thousands of Mumbaikars who don’t look before they cross the rail tracks – although it is illegal to do – and end up getting killed or grievously injured. For all those who feel that they can escape the local train; beware there are the railway police force (RPF) who shall be keeping an eye on you. Starting December 9, the RPF of the Central Railway (CR) shall start surprise checks at railway stations and catch hold of people trespassing on tracks.
This is being done, as trespassing or line crossing as it is said in railway parlance kills a large of people every year. Going by the statistics; every day five people die while crossing rail tracks. The number of people getting injured after getting hit by a train is very few with only one person on an average in a day surviving after being involved in trespassing cases.
