The Bombay High Court yesterday granted interim bail to a Republican Party of India (Athavale) activist, who is accused in a double murder case from Nashik, just four hours before his wedding.

Activist Bhushan Prakash Londhe (24), who is also the son of RPI (A) corporator Prakash Londhe, was caught unawares as his name came up in the case just four days before his wedding on January 18. He sought anticipatory bail from the high court after a Nashik local court had rejected his bail application on Wednesday.
In the murder case of Arjun Mahesh Awhad and Nikhil Vilas Gawali in Nashik, Bhushan&rsquo;s lawyer told the Bombay High Court bench of Justice Anuja Prabhudesai that his client had been implicated by the cops.
&ldquo;The FIR was registered on January 9 and my client&rsquo;s name came up on January 18. Bhushan is supposed to get married today (Friday) evening and all the preparation are done,&rdquo; said Aniket Ujjwal Nikam, Bhushan&rsquo;s lawyer in court.
Justice Prabhudesai granted the activist an interim bail till January 25 on a surety of Rs 40,000. Awhad and Gawali were found dead at Torangan Ghat in Trimbakeshwar on last New Year&rsquo;s Eve.
Investigation has revealed that the two were killed in Bhushan&rsquo;s office in Satpur, Nashik using a gavati katta (country made pistol) and the dead bodies were later moved to Trimbakeshwar in a Ford Endeavor and dumped at the ghat.
The accused arrested in the case are Sunny alias Lalit Vithalkar, Nikhil Nikunj, Prince Singh, Vatan Pawar and Kishore Gaikwad.
