Actor Sachin Pilgaonkar and choreographer Phulwa Khamkar, who had registered a case of cheating against a woman promising them cheap BMW cars, have mutually agreed to quash the FIR against the accused, in order to receive their money.

In November 2015, Pilgaonkar had registered an FIR against Anagha Kartik Borikar, who had promised to sell him a BMW GT worth around Rs 54 lakhs at a discounted rate of Rs 35 lakhs. Pilgaonkar first met Borikar in Panchgani at a sports event, where she informed him about her job as a BMW car dealer.
After she received R35.79 lakhs from the actor, the car was delivered to his house. Later, it was taken back by the showroom authorities, who claimed they had just sent it for a test-drive and were yet to receive the entire amount from Borikar. Pilgaonkar then tried getting in touch with Borikar, but she refused to answer his calls. He then lodged a complaint against Borikar with the Versova police station.
In a similar case, Khamkar too had been promised a BMW3 series sports car by the accused at a discounted rate. She paid Rs 10 lakhs for the car. However, after learning about Pilgaonkar's case, Khamkar also lodged an FIR against Borikar.
Following investigations by the Mumbai crime branch, the sessions court rejected Borikar's bail plea. But, the accused approached the high court, stating that she was ready to settle the matter. Following her appeal, Pilgaonkar and Khamkar also agreed to mutually quash the FIR, after which the HC on Thursday returned them their money, which had been deposited by Borikar in the court registry.
Advocate Swapna Kode who appeared for Pilogaonkar, said, "The bench had told us that till the time the trial ends or the FIR is quashed, nobody could remove the money (deposited by Borikar). So, we decided to quash the FIR."
