History-sheeter, wanted by the CBI, had physical relations with a woman after promising to marry her; she filed a rape case with Oshiwara police after he abandoned her
A history-sheeter was arrested from Delhi and brought to Mumbai yesterday by the Oshiwara police, in a rape case. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had also been on the hunt for the accused, identified as Mandatta Singh alias Rishi Singh, for the last few years. But it had not been able to catch hold of him.
Earlier, the Oshiwara police had registered a rape case against him. Singh had sexual relations with a woman for months after promising to marry her, but one fine day he abandoned her and fled the city. She then lodged a case with the police. Cops are now recording the statements of the accused and the victim for further investigations.
